What is the Most Practical New Car for someone with a 50+ mile per day commute?

Jill Thomer: Buy a VW Jetta TDI. They get 42 mpg and they do it with a real engine, not some hybrid electric nonsense. Plus you get a great car that handles well, looks good and will last you for 300K miles.

Gregory Dilg: I've had 2 Hondas now -- 225,000 miles on the first and 123,000 on my current. I don't see how you can go wrong.

Spencer Heidtbrink: an Hyundai Accent or Elantra for the warranty

Jamika Gregorio: A car really good on cas that would save you a lot of money. Take a look at the Toyota Corolla/ Honda Civic or Volkswagen Jetta. I have been on all three and can tell you none of them go for more than $20,000 (brand new) and they have all you want. I think the Jetta even has leather seats. They are comfortable and get really good gas ratio.
