Magda Vandergriend: From what I know Geico should sell all kind of insurance policies. You can buy one that covers your car and your rental cars and you can buy one that will cover your car only. Read your policy to see what you have bought or phone your insurers and ask them. RE: Does Geico Car insurance cover Rental Cars? Does Geico car insurance cover rental cars? Or does it JUST cover your car that you have insured w. them?
Sook Hershkowitz: Oh, bummer. HIS insurance isn't going to carry over to HER driving a rental car. Does SHE have a car insurance policy? Not as a listed driver, but with her as the named insured? The rental car insurance, isn't going to cover ANY driver not listed on the contract. The chances that Geico will cover the rental car damages with her driving, are slim and none.YOU will have to pay that amount.Unless you filed a police report, and filed auto theft charges against her, she did NOT steal the car. Either she had permission, or sh! e stole it, and you'll prosecute for auto theft. There's no "in between" on that....Show more
Janean Guz: Most rental agreements will charge extra for any addtl driver unless it is a spouse. Since he was the only listed driver and he was not driving when this accident happened, rental car company will not pay. Geico insures your brother, and unless the girlfriend is on his policy, the same will apply most likely. And even if on the police report he were to state no permission or stole vehicle from him, this is his girlfriend, so most likely would be implied, he did in fact give permission. For her to be arrested with those kind of charges, this girl has some serious alcohol and drug issues. Unless she has a auto policy of her own, it will most likely fall back on your brother to cover these damages. Your brother is in a mess and he might want to consider talking to an attorney. But most likely he will be on the hook for the damages. Most insurance companies ! will set up a payment plan to pay back, but this is going to b! e an expensive lesson for him and I suggest he find a new girlfriend, since with this type of behavior, this will most likely be the beginning of expensive bills to follow unless she gets treatment. good luck...Show more
