FREE CURRICULUM HOME SCHOOL?

Coleen Carignan: Homeschooling is when your parents pick and choose what you will learn. It sounds like you are doing public school at home. Public school is free. Unfortunately since it's public school you aren't able to work at your own PACE. For true homeschooling, a great free resource is your nearest library. Here's a few other resources:http://www.amblesideonline.org/curriculum.shtmlhttp://www.hippocampus.org/http://www.khanacademy.org/I suggest looking into American School. It's a self paced correspondance school. This school is a non profit so it's not too expensive. The tuition includes all books too. It's been around since 1897! http://www.americanschoolofcorr.com/...Show more

Houston Venezia: You might try Ambleside Online. It's an online curriculum guide that uses mostly library books. You will still need to buy a few books that get used a lot like math. You can get good used texts from Amazon, Ebay, or sometimes other homeschool families on Craigslis! t. Another resource is Khan Academy. They aren't a school, but have about 3000 online videos for different subjects all free. They also have quizzes you can take and track your progress if you get an account.Otherwise, the free programs are all correspondence programs run by public schools. You use their books, assignments, and schedule. Some will allow more flexibility than others, but all will have deadlines you must meet. You can try contacting K12 and Connections Academy to see how the programs in your area are set up to see if they will meet your needs....Show more

Raul Tllo: What you are looking for doesn't exist. The free online school you are currently enrolled in is an online public school. Online private schools used by some homeschoolers wouldn't be able to stay in business if they gave away their curriculum and didn't get tuition to pay the teachers. Your school is only "free" because it is a public school.
