Aron Ramu: I teach in Florida with a BAE in Exceptional Student Education. My specific area of certification is SLD. I am also certified in elem ed, and ELL. I also have National Board Certification. I don't have a degree in those three. I don't think you get a degree in secondary education. What I think you do is get a degree in the area that you want to teach and take classes to teach. You then take the state tests to complete what is required for certification. Elementary is different than secondary so I'm not 100% sure. Speak to the department of certification in the district closest where you live, the state or the college of education.BTW...some states are now allowing you to just take the certification exam to be certified....Show more
