Dick Maisenbacher: Yes, there are, especially in countries where the head of state is still a monarch. Think about Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding - that was a huge state event. The crown princess of Sweden was recently married and had a grand state wedding.However, not at all heads of state have state weddings. When Prince Charles remarried, to Camilla Bowles, they had a very small private wedding. I don't think an American president has ever had a state wedding. American taxpayers tend to frown on those kinds of events....Show more
