what did the roman snd greek do for entertainment?

Giovanna Cramblit: orgies for sure. and eating lying down.

Shaunta Paap: Orgies and public events and parties.

Granville Stray: Romans had amphitheaters, public bathes, theaters (think Antigone, and other stories), and circuses (like chariot racing). Roman children played traditional games like: hide-and-go-seek and leap frog, which are depicted in roman art.Check out this website: http://library.thinkquest.org/26602/entertainment....The Greeks did the same, but had their own level fun: the Olympicshttp://www.ancientgreece.com/s/Life/...Show more

Robin Weelborg: I'm surprised no one yet has mentioned the Colliseum.Smaller Amphitheatres were widespread throughout the Roman Empire. The Romans had an exeptional appetite for torture as entertainment. Gladiator fights were the highspots of a day at the Colliseum, and the most expensive to put on. Lions and Tigers against unarmed or lightly armed slaves was next and an incredible range of slow deaths was the l! east expensive entertainment. It's a bit of pride for me that no Amphitheater has been unearthed in England. If the population has no appetite for such entertainment then why waste money? The Greeks seem to have been much more civilised, constructing Theatres, with exeptional acoustics, for plays, both Comedy and Tradgedy, Poetry Readings, Music and Debate.Spatans were considered to have produced the best musicians. When you realise that a horn can be heard over the din of battle more than a Human voice and that battlefield formations have some resemblence to line dancing it's easy to see why both were encouraged in Sparta....Show more

James Langmyer: Orgies.
