Will Camus: Asian Educations is way better then American Education. Asians are way ahead in Studies. They dont have a good way of teaching but they are really ahead. Educations is honored in Asia. Everyone has to pay to recieve education. Students dont have the right to say or do something agianst teachers. They are Really respectful and challenging! Asian Education is the BEST!!!!! WITHOUT A DOUBT! I say this because i have been in both situations. i math i do in 10 th grade in America, i did in 6 grade in India!...Show more
Maritza Ebanks: Well, it is cultural more than systematic. In Asia, if you make a bad grade at school, you have SHAMED YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY (EVERYONE WITH YOUR LAST NAME). In America, most kids now are raising themselves, so who are they going to shame with poor grades. Second, they don't have as much of this PSP, XBox 360, and all this other crap to go home to and mess with after school. I say this and I am 23 and grew up in the Playstation and ! Internet generation, but will admit they have less distracitons. They go to school 6 days a week in some areas, too. Also, remember their families are tightly knit and there is so much more structure in their culture....Show more
Danyell Rowback: competition.in China, because the population is too high and educational institutions including private ones are too few that the competition to get an education and to get into a school (let alone a good school) is very very high. it's simple supply and demand. to get into schools, even middle schools, students would need to take entrance examinations. this type of environment would cause children/adults to work hard and study hard.the end result is that you get the smartest and brightest in the schools to begin with.and if you don't have university degree, then you can't get legitimate jobs working at legitimate firms or companies. 2-year college degrees don't suffice and nowadays failing English language requirement doesn'! t suffice either. so without a legitimate university degree, t! hose young adults are forced to start their own small private businesses instead.either that or if you're rich or family is rich, many fly their kids off to America to get an opportunity to university education and better life, since money buys all in America. even though there's corruption in China and the rich tries to buy their way to get their less studious kids into university, but the risk is great if they get caught, since the punishment in China is severe. sometimes too serious and severe such as the death penalty. so most rich families with their kids not making to universities would tend to just get their kids to study in America or Europe instead. hence you may see many Asian students here in the US or Canada flaunting their cash and cars and clothes etc.also, because the number of not so bright / lesser bright kids come to America to get education is higher, many negative stereotypes towards Asians in America are further fueled/reinforced. and so the public in A! merica thinks that's all there is as far as Asian identity, personality, lifestyle, mentality, behavior etc, when it's far from the truth.as far as better public education system goes, I think you should look at European public education system. in their system, the government allocates a specific amount of money for each student/citizen and a school gets funding from the government through the student. if the student attends that particular school, then the government will give that allocated money to that particular school the student choose to attend. if the student doesn't like that particular school, then the student can attend another school of his choice, and that new school that the student is moving to will then get the allocated government money/funding instead. as a result, schools will compete against one another, be it better facilities and/or better education etc., all depends on what the students want. thus, the end result is that as a society, as a governmen! t, as a city/country, you would get generations of children eager to le! arn and explorer new things/education....Show more
Charline Granes: When i was an elementary school student (public school),Had 5-6 hours class per day on weekdays. On saturday we had 3 hour classess.Only 5 main subjects plus P.E, Art, Music etc but more focused and concentrated on these 5 subjects. So many HMWKs for Math and Language.Memorization of textbook works for most exams. In math, we didnt use blocks to count or ballpark estimates.By entering high school, most people are expected to understand function/alge/probability/carcurous/geometry....One thing, we had to clean up our classroom by ourselves....and we also had to serve our food by ourselves.....there was nothing like caffeteria lol...Show more
Shad Bushweller: Asians value education more than Americans. they are more strict about it. Sometimes too strict.
Gaston Edgcomb: If I knew what the characteristics of Asian education were, I'd be able to say more than, "Lots."
